Handbook for parents & carers
3. The school day
Food & drink
The school has no facilities to cook our own meals but hot dinners are provided by Orian and are transported in each day from a local primary school kitchen where they are prepared. A hot dinner is provided free of charge for all our Key Stage 1 children. Key Stage 2 pupils are charged £2.20 per day. Special dietary requirements are catered for.
Alternatively, your child can choose to bring in a packed lunch. Please ensure all food and drink containers are of unbreakable material and clearly marked with your child’s name.
Children are allowed to bring a morning snack to school. We encourage healthy eating so, in our view, a snack should consist of a piece of fruit. Children in the infant classes receive a free piece of fruit each day which they eat at morning break time.
School milk is available through the EU milk subsidy scheme. Milk is provided free for children under the age of 5. A small carton of milk can be purchased at morning playtime.
At the time of printing milk costs 20 pence per day which is collected termly and is non refundable.
