Sports Results

What a wonderful sporting week we have had!  In addition to the fantastic result we had last week in Athletics; our Gym teams have been equally successful this week in the Key Steps competitions and are now through to the county finals.  Both the Athletics and all three gym teams will now be travelling to Penrith the week after half term to represent Furness.

I would just like to once again thank the parents who have supported these competitions as without your help it would be very difficult for us to take part.  Also a big thank you to Mrs Simpson who is still very much involved in working with the sports teams and of course to Mrs Smith who organises the children and their participation in these events with military precision!

I have noticed over these few weeks that there are a number of children in school not wearing the full and correct uniform.  As an outstanding school it is important to maintain high standards of work, behaviour and general presentation which does include our uniform and how we present ourselves.  I have discussed this with the governing body and we have agreed that we would like to provide our parents with more options for uniform with regard to where they can purchase it from.  I have had discussions with a representative from Identity in Barrow-in-Furness and have also looked into using Tesco as a supplier who will now do selected items with the school logo on.  I will be sending a separate letter home with further details and prices once finalised.

 Outdoor Activities

Mrs Smith has asked me to remind parents of the children in Class 2 to ensure that they have wellies, gloves and hats in school as the children do activities outside every Monday afternoon and although we have seen some lovely blue skies this week, it can still be quite cold.
