NSPCC – Non-Uniform Day

As you will know from a recent email, we have the NSPCC visiting us next week to deliver an assembly to KS1 pupils and then an assembly to KS2 pupils followed by a workshop with Year 5/6.  It has been suggested to me that we use this event to help fundraise for their charity so that they can continue to help protect and safeguard children.  Therefore we would like to invite all our pupils to come to school in non-uniform on Wednesday and dress in something green (NSPCC colour) for a donation of £1.  However, if your child does not have any green clothes then please do not buy any especially as any non-uniform attire will be perfectly acceptable.

Lindal Ladies Group

I would like to make you aware of two exciting events that we have been advertising in our entrance hall.  Lindal Ladies Charity Group have organized another ‘Ladies Fashion Show and Pop Up Shop’ following the huge success of last year’s event.  Tickets cost £6 and include a glass of Pimms and canapes.  The event takes place on Monday 17th October, at Buccleuch Hall and doors open at 7pm.  Please see Lynn Satterthwaite if you would like a ticket.

Another event happening this weekend is a MacMillan Coffee Morning.  This will also take place at the Buccleuch Hall this Saturday from 10am to 12pm.  Admission is £1 which will include coffee/tea and biscuits.  There will be a cake stall, book stall, tombola and a raffle.

Harvest Tea

We will be hosting Afternoon Tea on Wednesday 12th October for the senior citizens of Lindal and any of our Grandparents who would like to come.  We will be welcoming visitors from 1:30pm onwards and hope that they will join us for refreshments and light entertainment from our School Choir together with a song and poem performed by each of the four classes in school.  Our pupils will be helping to make sandwiches during the morning so we would like to ask for your help with cakes and would be very grateful for any donations of cakes or biscuits that you could offer.
