Christmas Parties & Church Service (Thursday)

Thank you to all those who have sent in a £2 donation for the children’s parties.  Just to remind you that the children can come into school that day in their party wear but we will be walking to and from church in the morning.  We do need parent volunteers to assist us in the walk and those that are willing are welcome to come into school after the morning drop off and have a coffee or tea before we set off at 9:15am.

Extra-Curricular Clubs

Please see the reverse of the letter for an overview of clubs available next term.  As usual a letter with permission slip will be sent home in the first week which we ask to be returned as soon as possible.  Registers for clubs will then be drawn up with a view to the clubs commencing on Monday 16th January.  Breakfast and After-School club will commence

Christmas at Dowdales

Last night some of our very dedicated Year 3 and 4 pupil did the school very proud when they attended Dowdales School to perform a song as part of their ‘Christmas at Dowdales’ celebrations.  The children stood on stage in front of a large audience and performed the song, ‘Let it go’ from the Disney film Frozen.  As if that wasn’t amazing enough, the children sang the song in German!!!  Mr Procter has established a link with languages teacher, Frau Herbert, who has been coming into school for an hour each week teaching the German to the children.  Well done children and thank you to Frau Herbert and Mr Procter for all your efforts.

Performances

The children will be staging their first official performance on Monday starting at 1:30pm.  The hall is used for lunch up until 1pm and once dinners are finished, it will be a very quick turnaround to take out tables, sweep floors and set out 70 chairs.  For this reason we are asking that you do not arrive before 1:15pm as the hall will not be ready.  Could children please arrive for the evening performances at 5pm.

Blackpool Panto

Just a reminder that children are asked to be in school for 10am on Wednesday morning.  They should come in full uniform with a packed lunch.  Any medicines or travel sickness pills should be handed to their class teacher with written instructions.
