Last Day!

As tomorrow is the last day of term and the children all behaved fantastically during our visit to Blackpool, we would like to reward them with a non-uniform day tomorrow.  The children are free to come to school in Christmas jumpers or any non-uniform of their choice.  We are also happy for the children to bring in a small toy or game that they would be happy to share and play with others.  Electrical devices are acceptable although no mobile phones should be brought into school and we are not able to charge any devices either due to PAT testing regulations.  The start and finish times of the day will be as normal.

We were joined today by Mrs Smith and Mrs Hutt who asked the children to draw tickets for this year’s Christmas Raffle.  The list of prizes and winners is below (winners in bold).

The Friends have raised a total of £960 which is an amazing result.  This, together with the list of prizes donated by our parents and families, just shows what a supportive and generous community this is.  Thank you all so much and thank you once again to all the Friends who give so much of their time and effort to organizing these events and ensuring that all of our fundraising benefits all of our children.

Barrow AFC Competition

All the primary schools in the area were invited by Barrow AFC to take part in a competition to design the front cover of their Boxing Day match programme.  We sent off 85 entries and I am very pleased to tell you that Lucy Doyle’s design was chosen as the winner.  We are absolutely thrilled!  Barrow AFC are having a very successful season and the Boxing Day match will be very well attended.  We are so proud to have a design by one of our pupils adorning the front cover of the programme.  Well done Lucy.

It has been another happy and successful year in school.  I would like to extend my thanks to all of our wonderful staff, students and volunteers who work tirelessly to provide the children with the many wonderful experiences they have here.  With the tremendous parent support we have, the hardworking and dedicated staff and the fantastic children, Lindal and Marton makes for a very happy place to work and learn.
