Young Voices 2017

Our choir will be making their annual trip to Manchester next week to take part in the fantastic Young Voices concert.  It is a wonderful event and an amazing experience for the children but it is a very long day and a very late night.  With that in mind, we are happy for those pupils taking part to start the day later.  Therefore, members of the choir can chose to come into school on Friday 10th February at either the usual time (8:50am), 10:30am or 12:00pm.  We would ask parents to adhere to the times given as this will cause minimal disruption to lessons and our daily routines.

A reminder to Class 3 parents; Mr Procter will be taking the class to the Dock Museum on that Friday and will be leaving school after lunch at approximately 12:45pm.

Valentines Disco

Friends of LAMPS will be hosting a Valentines Disco at Buccleuch Hall, 6-8pm on Friday 17th February.  The cost of entry will be £2.50 payable on the door that evening.  There will be a small tuck shop selling hot dogs, crisps, drinks and sweets (ranging from 20p to 80p) as well as the glow in the dark items which were very popular last year.  Parents are not obliged to stay with their children but can do so if they wish.

Red Nose Day

Our School Council have been busy planning a fundraising event for Red Nose Day which will be held on March 24th this year.  We have given them the task of organising a sponsored event that would not only raise money for Red Nose Day to benefit the wider community, but would also benefit them and their immediate community too.

The children have decided to organise a sponsored litter pick around Lindal and Marton villages.  They will be sending letters home with more details and a sponsor form after half term.

Student

We will be having another student joining us in school next week.  Miss Pukey is a post graduate student from the University of Cumbria and will be working alongside Miss Whyte and the children in Class 4 for 5 weeks.
