Coffee Morning

Many thanks to the Friends of LAMPS who held the very successful Coffee Morning yesterday.  Thank you also to the Year 5 pupils who assisted and were praised for their excellent behaviour, manners and enthusiasm.

Lunch time staff

Mrs Roberts, our midday supervisor, has been absent for a number of weeks due to having an operation on her back.  Unfortunately Mrs Roberts has chosen not to return so we will now be recruiting for a new Midday Supervisor.  If any of our parents are interested, the hours are from 12:00pm to 1:15pm each day.  The rate of pay is approximately £7.50 per hour.

Mrs Roberts’ absence has been covered up until this point by Mrs Gallagher but now we know she will not be returning, we are keen to have someone permanent in place as soon as possible.  If there are any parents or community members who could possibly cover this position until we complete the recruitment process, then please do contact school.

Breakfast and After School Club

Some parents who use this provision have expressed concerns about keeping in touch with school news and have suggested a noticeboard in the Buccleuch Hall that replicates the one in school. Sue Bennett, our Chair of Governors, and I are both happy to support this suggestion and hope to have it in place very soon.  The noticeboard will display a copy of the newsletter, diary dates and an extra-curricular club timetable.

We recognise that parents who use both clubs regularly may well feel that they are becoming distanced from the school and we obviously want to reduce this as much as possible.  Therefore, in addition to the noticeboard, I would like to remind all parents that teachers can be contacted via email or Dojo and are always happy to make themselves available before or after school for any informal chats.  This may not solve the problem of parents feeling they have less of a connection but we are always interested to hear any suggestions you have in overcoming this.

Red Nose Day

Our red noses have arrived and we have 2 boxes giving us a total of 80 to sell.  They will be sold by School Council members at every break time from Wednesday next week.  The noses will cost £1.  They will initially be sold on a ‘one per child’ basis until Weds 22nd March.  If any noses remain after that date, they will be sold to whoever is interested in purchasing one.

Non-Uniform Days

As the children will be taking part in the Litter Pick on Red Nose Day, we would like to invite them to come into school wearing something red.

You will also see from the Diary Dates section, we are celebrating Maths Day on Friday next week.  The children will be completing fun maths themed activities all day.  We would also like them to come into school in non-uniform this day too.  However, because it is ‘Maths Day’ the challenge is to wear something associated with maths.  This could be a T’Shirt with a number on or perhaps a shape.  Anything maths related!

No money will be collected for either non-uniform day.

Diary Dates

These are useful dates for your diary that will be added to each week.  More information about each event will be provided nearer the time.
