Bingo Evening

Many thanks again to the Friends of LAMPS, and especially Mr and Mrs Brettle, who organised the very successful Bingo Evening that took place last week.  An amazing £790 was raised!

Safeguarding

I would just like to give a polite reminder about our routines or dismissing children at the end of the day and after an extra-curricular club.  At 3:15pm children in Class 1 and Class 2 are handed over to an adult. If you will not be in the usual area to collect your child either because you have made alternative arrangements or are allowing them to walk home with an elder sibling then please ensure you inform us.

This is also the procedure for Class 1 and 2 pupils after an extra-curricular activity.  Parents are to wait outside the Children’s Entrance unless invited into school by a member of staff.  We have had several instances lately of parents opening the door themselves.  Whilst we are more than happy for you to wait inside if it is raining, it is essential that we know and that there is a member of staff in that entrance area as well.  Thank you for your understanding, we appreciate your support in ensuring all children are handed to an adult at the end of the day.

 UVHS Students

We were very lucky to have Daniel Hall, Jack Spencer and Katie Wilks (Year 10 students of UVHS) come and spend a week with us on their work placement.  All three have taken an active role in supporting children and class teachers and have been a fabulous addition to the school.

 Uniform Update

I can now confirm that Coniston Corporate UK will be supplying all of our new uniform items (navy shorts included) along with Identity in Barrow.  I will now be liaising with Tesco Uniform to arrange for them to supply sweatshirts with small logos and the navy trousers, skirts and pinafores.   I will inform you when both Tesco and Coniston have the new items available to purchase.

 Gymnastics

Our Key Steps 2 and Key Steps 3 team competed in the area finals competition at Furness Academy this week.  We were thrilled to hear that both teams won and will now travel to Penrith to represent Furness in the County finals.  They will be joined by Newton School who will be taking their Key Steps 1 team.  Thank you to all the staff and parents who have supported them and especially Leah Clough who has given her time voluntarily to coach our Key Steps 3 team.
