I would like to thank those parents who have had time to take a look at the new lunch menu and ordering system and also given us very positive feedback about the options available.  To answer a few common queries:

  • Full refunds can be made to any parents who are currently in credit with Orian
  • There will be an option of salad every day
  • Some parents have noted that their email from Dolce went into a spam/junk folder
  • There will be a selection of desserts available for the children to choose each day rather than pre-order.
  • Lunches should be ordered or the week commencing 5th June.

If you have any difficulties next week with the new system then please email either myself or Mrs Gallagher as we are both available over the half term break.

Plant Sale

I would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Smith and the Friends for another excellent Plant Sale.  I am very pleased to say that thanks to Harry Mayou and Imogen Brettle all the plants have now been sold.  We will update you soon with the total raised.

You may or may not know that LAMPS is a registered Kidsafe school meaning we have taken an extra safeguarding measure where we have trained staff to deliver programmes that teach children about keeping themselves safe.   Mrs Jarvis has undertaken this training and will soon be working with children in Class 1 and Class 2.

The children’s programme is delivered in the classroom setting with active participation from children and class teachers. The course material is age appropriate with key messages being delivered through a variety of media including song, rhyme and action, puppetry, group discussion, games and worksheets.

During the programme the children cover a range of topics including, their own feelings (happy/sad), respecting and valuing their own bodies, bullying, computer and internet safety, inappropriate touching and secrets in relation to abuse. Children devise strategies (as a group and as individuals) for keeping themselves safe. Strategies include the confidence and ability to say ‘NO’ to anything that makes them feel uncomfortable, and children identify their own support network of trusted adults that they can turn to if they are scared or worried about anything.

If you have any questions, concerns or would just like a little bit more information about the programmes before they are delivered, you are invited to pop into school on Monday 5th June, 3pm, where myself, Mrs Jarvis and Miss Stewart will be happy to speak to you.

Extra-Curricular Clubs

Clubs will remain the same after the half term break.  Can I please remind you that if you sign your child up for a club then this should be viewed as a commitment.  We have had numerous occasions this term where precious time is being taken by Mrs Gallagher and the adult responsible for the club to locate children missing from the club register.  We fully accept that a child may want to try a club and then decide they do not want to continue but all too often children are opting in and out each week.

If there is a particular reason why your child cannot attend then please ensure that this is communicated either to Mrs Gallagher or the adult who runs that club to ensure we know where they are and where they should be.
