Fun Run

I was so impressed by the children on Wednesday morning during the Fun Run.  Each and every one of them showed so much determination and stamina during their 45 minutes of running.  They were all so enthusiastic and ran with energetic smiles.  We have some very talented runners in school!  The highest Key Stage 2 score was from Elliott Barnes who completed 44 laps and the highest Key Stage 1 score was from Harry Webb who completed 59 laps of the smaller course.  Well done to all who took part!

Each child has been given a certificate today with their score.  The girl and boy who scored the most laps in each year group has also been given a voucher for free admission into Greenland’s Open Farm.

Extra-Curricular Clubs

As the majority of Key Stage 2 pupils will be on their residential trip next week, there will be no Brass Club after school and no weekly brass or French lesson.  Children who usually stay for Brass but are not on residential are welcome to attend Mr Vial’s Games Club which finishes at 4:15pm.  KS2 extra-curricular clubs which take place on Tuesday and Wednesday will continue as normal although activities may be slightly different due to having less children.

Because this term finishes on Thursday 20th July, there will be no extra-curricular club with Tom, our Onside coach.  Also, because there is a trip on Thursday 6th July, there will be no club with Tom on this day either.  Therefore, the cost of Athletics for this term is £5.  Any parents who have paid more than this will be refunded in due course.

Lindal Gala

We are delighted to be involved in the Lindal Gala again this year and have a group of KS2 children who are currently learning a dance which they hope to perform on the day (weather permitting).  We would also like to contribute to the fundraising with the ‘Adopt a Teddy’ stall which proved very popular last year.  For this we need your help with any donations of old teddies.  They can be brought into school anytime next week and given to either myself or Mrs Gallagher.  Thank you.

New School Uniform

I have spoken to Coniston Uniform and they have assured me that our uniform shop, with all new items (shorts included), will be live by July 6th.

Identity Shop in Barrow are stocking and selling all items now. The Tesco Uniform shop has been updated with basic items.

School will be purchasing 1 new elasticated tie for each child as a gift.  These will be given to pupils in the final week of term.

Positive Feedback

Class 1 made another visit to the Dock Museum this week and staff praised their excellent manners and behaviour.  Thank you so much to our parents who have volunteered to transport the children to both this and other recent events.  Your support is always appreciated.
