Harvest – LAMPS presentation at St Peter’s Church

On Friday afternoon next week we will be walking to church for the Harvest Service.  Each class have been busy preparing either a song to perform or poems and prayers.  Every year we ask for donations for the Food Bank and the children take any items to church with them.  The Food Bank urgently needs tinned fruit, jam, sponge puddings, UHT fruit juice, tea bags and coffee.  Other items which will be gratefully received include soup, pasta, rice and cereal.

We will be walking from school at approximately 1:10pm and would appreciate it if any parents could walk down with us to help us keep the children safe.  If you are able to offer support then please just mention it to myself or a teacher.

Harvest – Afternoon Tea for Grandparents and Senior Citizens

Our Harvest Afternoon Tea last year was very well attended and as fantastic as that is, we did struggle to fit all our guests into the hall.  For this reason, we will be issuing tickets this year.  There will be 40 tickets available.  Whilst I know this will mean that not all Grandparents who want to attend can, we must consider the health and safety of our guests and children.  The children will present the same songs and poems in both the Church Service and the Harvest Tea so parents will also have an opportunity to see them too when in church.

Tickets will be available from Mrs Gallagher from Wednesday 4th October and will initially be given 1 per family on a first come, first serve basis.  If there are any tickets remaining after Tuesday 10th we will send a text and you are welcome to request 1 extra ticket.  Whilst I understand this arrangement may frustrate some people, we really must prioritize safety .

The Afternoon Tea will take place on Friday 13th October from 1:30pm.  We would be very grateful for any donations of cakes or biscuits that could be brought into school that morning.  Key Stage 2 pupils will be preparing sandwiches.

After School Club

As you know Lindal Pre-School, who provide our Breakfast and After-School childcare, rent Buccleuch Hall and as a result, are obliged to fit in with the hall committee’s long standing bookings.  This will mean that the After-School Club will be held in school on the following days:

  • Monday, October 16th
  • Thursday, November 16th
  • Friday, November 24th

We hope that this does not inconvenience anyone and thank you for your support.

Friends AGM

Next Monday the Friends of LAMPS AGM meeting will take place in school at 7:30pm.  All are welcome.  The current members of the committee are extremely dedicated, giving up much of their own time to do an absolutely marvelous job.  We will be discussing funds raised last year and planning this year’s activities.  If you would like to contribute any ideas then please come along.  If you cannot make the meeting but would like to be involved helping at any future events then please just mention it to Jane Smith (Chairperson) or Mrs Gallagher.
