Book Sale

Just a quick reminder of the book sale that our School Council has organised for Friday next week.  The sale will take place from 3 – 4:30pm after school.  If you have any donations of books then please can these be brought into school anytime next week.  Thank you.

Christmas Shoe Boxes

We will be supporting the Samaritans Purse shoe box appeal again this year.  If you decide to donate a shoe box then it would be fantastic if these could be brought into school for November 15th ready to be collected soon after.  Parents also have the option of donating items from the list (small toys, stationery, toiletries, sweets etc) to school and our School Council will wrap boxes and combine the donations to add to the collection.

Dining Tables

We have been very excited this week to order 3 new dining tables which are bigger and will ease the difficulties we have of sitting all our pupils down for their hot dinner each day.  The dining tables are quite expensive and have been purchased using funds raised by Friends of LAMPS.  We are very grateful to the Friends and our parents for their generosity.

If anyone would like a form to sign up for the LAMPS Lottery then please see Mrs Gallagher or Mrs Smith.  The £100 superdraw takes place in December so you may even like to buy another number which can be given as a gift.

Parking

A few parents have shared parking concerns with me again.  Mornings seem to be particularly troublesome at the moment.  There are more children in KS2 who are now walking to school which is something we encourage and I am really pleased about.  For those parents who do not live in the village, your children could always be dropped off at The Green if you feel they are responsible enough to walk up the path and cross at the appropriate place.

We do have more than 60 families in school and being on a narrow lane does cause difficulty.  However, if parents park sensibly, keeping clear of pinch points (such as that near to School House), and using the junction at the top of the lane to turn (rather than School Terrace), the morning drop off will be less stressful for everybody.
