Christmas cards
Our Christmas postbox will be placed in the children’s entrance from Monday. Anybody wishing to give Christmas Cards to their classmates can put them in the box and they will be delivered by our key stage two helpers at lunchtime each day.

Outdoors
We have had some quite sunny but very cold days this week. If the weather is dry then we take the children outside. This is especially true for PE lessons. Mr Vial and Mr Lawson has requested that key stage one children have outdoor PE kit in school. We will take advantage of any dry days to get the children outside and keep them active but they do need joggers at the very least. We do only have one more outdoor lesson planned this term (next Thursday) so if outdoor kits can be brought in to school for January it will be very much appreciated.

School Applications
For any child wishing to join our Reception class in September 2018 the closing date for applications is 15th January 2018. If you know of any other families who may be interested in a place in Reception in September 2018 could you please alert them to this date. We do not hold Open Days because we are always open for any parent who would like to visit the school and meet the staff and children.

Inclement weather - school closures
There were many school closures in Cumbria last week due to floods. We always endeavour to keep LAMPS open and it is never an easy decision if we must close the school for any reason.  It is important for you as parents to be informed as soon as possible of any closures and as a school we will always aim to do this quickly and efficiently. If the school were to close due to inclement weather, it could mean the school site is unsafe or school staff are unable to travel safely from their home to school. A decision will be made by 8:00am (at the latest) on the day of the closure.  This information will be sent by text message and broadcast on The Bay Radio and Radio Cumbria. Please be assured that we would never unnecessarily close our school.
