Welcome Back!

Welcome back to the summer term, it has come around very quickly!  I would like to thank you all for attending Parents’ Evening meetings.  It is wonderful to have an opportunity to talk to you about the children’s progress and how hard they work and it has been fantastic to hear so much positive feedback about how happy the children are in school.  Thank you.

New Gate

I am sure most of you have seen our new gate which was installed during the Easter Break.  The gate is controlled from the office (or with a code on the keypad) and the purpose of it is to secure the playground and ensure the safety of the children, especially at lunch and break times.  We would like to thank you for your patience this week as staff have had to get used to the new system just as parents have.  The gate will be open in the morning and then locked at 9am until 3pm when it will be open for parents collecting children at the end of the day.  If for any reason, after pressing the buzzer, you do not get an immediate response, can I urge you to be patient and try again as it just means Mrs Gallagher has stepped out of the office for a brief moment.  For your own safety, and to ensure the gate continues to work properly, we ask you not to climb over it for any reason.  If there is a problem gaining access then, as a last resort, parents can knock on the window of Class 1.

Anthony Wright

We are very lucky to have Anthony Wright in school next Thursday morning to take photographs of the children.  Every child will for an individual photograph as well as a photograph taken with their sibling; Mr Wright will also be taking whole class pictures too.  If you do not want your child to be photographed then please let Mrs Gallagher know before Thursday.  If your child has siblings that do not attend this school, you are welcome to bring them from 8am to have their photograph taken together before school starts.

PE Kits / Uniform

We have had a number of children who have not had their PE kit in school this week.  This does cause difficulties for them participating fully in their PE lessons.  Please can I ask that all children have their kit in school and that any girls who regularly wear tights are provided with socks too.

Polling Day

Voting for Council Elections will take place next month on Thursday 3rd May.  As Buccleuch Hall will be in use, Breakfast and After-School Club will take place at LAMPS.
