SATs Week

We would like to say a huge well done to our Year 6 pupils.  They have made us very proud this week with their mature and positive attitude towards their SATs tests.  They have worked tremendously hard all year.  Their motivation and perseverance is an example to all.

Coniston 2 Barrow

We would also like to say a huge well done to Mrs Winder, Mrs Heap, Grace Heap, Imogen Brettle, Zara Clough and Mrs Elliott who all took part in the Coniston 2 Barrow last week and finished it with fantastic times.  Mrs Elliott told us that the children received so much support and encouragement as they went through the village and it really helped to spur them on.

Photographs

Please can we have all orders for photographs before Wednesday next week.  There are class photographs on display in the cloakroom and if you would like to include one of these with your order they cost £8 each.  Payments are cash only to be sent with the order form.  Thank you.

Celebration Day

All the children have enjoyed a day of Royal Wedding themed activities and few party snacks this afternoon.  As well as celebrating the royal occasion, we have also used this afternoon as an opportunity to reward our Year 2 and Year 6 pupils for their extra effort during SATs and also some other individuals who have stood out for working hard and behaving well all year round.  These children have had the option to stay with their class for activities or join in with some games planned and delivered by Class 4.

Peace Garden

Today we have also celebrated the completion of Sam Powell’s Peace Garden with an official opening.  He has been working very hard along with some of his friends to improve a planted area that had become overgrown and very untidy.  Sam designed the garden and, with some guidance and support from his Grandad, he has created a gorgeous rockery and has really improved that area of our playground.  We love this garden and would like to thank him for his hard work and effort.
