Residential

I would like to say a huge well done to the children who attended the residential trip to York last week.  Residential trips are great for developing children’s independence and self-esteem.  Our children really impressed us with how organised and tidy they were, how willing they were to take on a challenge and, more importantly, how well they supported and encouraged one another.  We are looking forward to planning next year’s trip to either Coniston or Eskdale.

Fun Run

The sponsored Fun Run took place on Tuesday afternoon this week.  As usual the children demonstrated very high levels of grit and determination to run as many laps as they possibly could.  The Friends have asked that any money collected be returned to school by Friday 29th June.  There is a Friends meeting on Friday 6th July, straight after school at 3:15pm, which will be an opportunity for parents to suggest what they would like the money raised to be spent on.

Lindal Gala

The annual Lindal Gala will take place next Saturday, 30th June.  This year Briony Murray will be crowned Queen and the procession for this will begin at Lindal Church, meeting at 1:40pm.  We would love to see as many boys and girls as possible in the procession to support Briony so if you could encourage your child to join in that would be fabulous.

The School Council have met with Mr Procter and have decided to run a Toy Stall on the day to help raise funds for the church.  If you have any toys in good, working condition that you would be happy to donate, please can they be brought to Mr Procter before Thursday next week so that he can work with the School Council to price them up before the gala on Saturday.  Thank you.

Summer Sports Fun Day

Please note that the date for the Summer Sports Fun Day at Glaxo has now changed to Monday 16th July.  As usual we will be asking parents to drop children off at the Sports Centre and pick them up at the end of the day.
