School Dinners

Thank you to parents of children in class 1 for returning the dinner choices to school so promptly and apologies to any children who were disappointed with the lunch on Monday.  The menu has changed and unfortunately, by simple miscommunication, we were not informed when the changes came into effect.

 Summer Sun

We have been blessed with some glorious sunshine this week and it is excellent to see so many pupils wearing a sun hat.  We do like to take advantage of the weather for outdoor learning so it is possible that your child may be outside for longer than their usual break times.  Please do apply sun cream before school.  Class 2 and 3 pupils are welcome to bring sun cream in their bags and are free to apply it themselves during the day.  If parents of children in class 1 would like to send sun cream into school then please label the bottle with the child’s name and send with a note if you would prefer it to be applied by an adult (or by the child under adult supervision).

 Residential Presentation

Parents of children who are attending this year’s residential are invited to a brief and informal presentation on Tuesday 5th May at 5:15pm.  This will be an opportunity to view the accommodation, see the programme of activities, receive an equipment/clothing list and also ask any questions you may have.  For any parents who are unable to attend, an information pack will be sent home.

Orienteering

A team of year 5/6 pupils participated in an orienteering competition on Wednesday morning.  The weather could not have been more perfect for them!  The children did fantastically well with Elijah Stables being the 5th fastest boy, Heather Murray achieving 3rd fastest girl and Anya Clough comin 2nd out of 40 children.  More importantly though, the children had a fantastic morning and as usual they worked wonderfully as a team.

Thank you to Mrs D Murray and Mrs Smith who helped to transport the children.  Without this continued support, entering such events would be much more difficult.
