Thank you!!!

I would once again like to thank Mrs Hoekstra for all her hard work and effort to arrange the summer concert and support all the children with their fantastic performances.  Just like Sports Day last week, it was organized very well and an enjoyable event for both parents, staff and the children.  We hope that Mrs Smith will continue to support the school with Sports Day next year just as Mrs Simpson has been kind enough to do in her retirement.

I would also like to thank the Friends of LAMPS, particularly Jane Smith for the time given to providing the wonderful baked goods and also for selling the refreshments on the two days.  Raising money on both occasions has enabled us to reward the children and provide them with better facilities and activities next week for our Summer Fun Sports Day.

Thanks must also be given to those who have been kind enough to help in the garden over the past few weeks.  There have been many hours volunteered to cut the grass alone!  With the help of parents and their power washers, we have also been able to clean paths and walk ways which has significantly improved safety so this is very much appreciated.

Uniform Sale

There will be a uniform sale on Monday straight after school and also in the evening for those parents attending the presentation evening for new reception pupils or other new starters.  Many items are new or in very good condition and can be purchased for a nominal donation.  You can never have too many school jumpers!

A reminder of the uniform requirements:

  • Sweatshirt with large logo or cardigan with logo
  • White polo shirt with logo
  • Grey pants/shorts/skirt/pinafore
  • Navy PE shorts/PE skirt/Skort
  • White T-shirt with large logo
  • Pumps for indoor PE and trainers for outdoor activities
  • Fleece jackets are also available to purchase for outdoor activities or trips but are not essential.

Uniform can be purchased online from Coniston Embroidery or the Tesco Uniform Shop.  Alternatively, items can be bought in the Identity Uniform Shop, Barrow.

Picnic Lunch

Those pupils who have a school dinner have been given a letter and asked to choose a sandwich filling for a packed lunch on the very last day of term. We are hoping for nice weather next Friday so the children can enjoy some time in the garden and join together for a picnic.  Please ensure that sandwich choices are returned on Monday if they have not been already.

Summer Fun Sports Day

Thank you to all those who have returned their slips indicating whether or not you are able to drop off and collect your child from Glaxo Sports Hall on Thursday next week.  We are very pleased that most are able to do this but we can make arrangements for any children who need transport as we do not want to cause any difficulties for any families.  Because we do not have to include the cost of a coach, we are able to provide a wider range of activities for the children to make the day even more enjoyable.  Thank you for your support.

Extra-curricular Clubs

All clubs have now finished.  If after school childcare is required then please book your children into the After School Club.
