After School Clubs

After school extra-curricular activities will end for this term after Friday 4th December.  During the last two weeks of the term there will be the KS1 and KS2 productions, the party, pupils will be visiting other schools to watch their performances and we may also have the choir singing as various places.  It is also very difficult to conduct sports clubs when the weather is wet and the stage is up in the hall.  Extra-curricular activities will resume in the second week of the spring term.

Film Night

There will be another Film Night for the children on the last day of term (Thursday 17th Dec).  We are hoping to have at least two Christmas films for the children to choose between and, depending on the number of pupils attending, there is a possibility of us using two classrooms and showing two films.  More information will be sent out in due course.  Jane Smith has also asked me to remind parents about the Christmas Raffle.  Please continue to try and sell tickets right up until Monday 14th December and if needed, more can be given from either Mrs Smith or Mrs Gallagher in the office.

Sports Report

Our Sports teams have been very active over the past few weeks and we have some excellent results, especially in Hockey.  Mrs Smith was over the moon to hear that our team will be competing in the county finals in Carlisle as it is the first time we have ever achieved this in Hockey so very well done to Miss Hair and all the children involved.  I would also like to take this opportunity to thank parents that have supported the various sporting events and also helped with transport as without this continued support we would be unable to participate in as many activities and events as we do.

KS1 and KS2 Productions

The children have been very busy preparing for their performances.  Because of the limited space we have, it is necessary for us to plan for and manage the number of people attending each afternoon and evening.  Therefore, at the bottom of the newsletter, you will find a slip to complete and request the number of tickets you require and what your preferred performance is.  The tickets will then be sent home with the children.  We will issue two tickets per family initially and if more are required then please indicate on the slip and if any tickets remain we will divide them accordingly.  Mr Kilty will be taking photos again and the Friends plan to have orders fulfilled before the end of term so that they can be given as Christmas gifts.
