Crib Service

I am pleased to report that the date for the Crib Service at St Peter’s Church has now been confirmed.  The service is for ALL classes and will take place on Tuesday 15th December, 9am.  Children are to be dropped off at 8:50am and parents are welcome to remain for the service.  Children who attend Breakfast Club on that morning will walk down with staff members.  I will not be asking parents to sign a permission slip to give consent for the children to attend but if there are any difficulties then please do let me know.

Head Lice

Incidences of head lice have been reported in school.  Please be vigilant and regularly check your child’s/children’s hair and treat if necessary.   Girls should be encouraged to have their hair tied up as a sensible precaution.  If you do find head lice and need advice on how to treat them then the NHS have a wealth of information on their website.

Christmas Jumper/Onesie/Non-Uniform Day

I met with our School Council today to discuss making a contribution to Cumbria Community Foundation Flood Appeal.  Theysuggested that a non-uniform day be held this Friday (11th December).  Therefore the children will be free to come to school dressed in any outfit of their choice as long as they have sensible footwear for break times and wear clothes to keep them warm given the colder weather.  A donation of any amount can be made but we ask for a minimum donation of £1 per child.

Christmas Raffle Ticket Reminder

This is just a quick reminder that raffle tickets for the Christmas draw need to be returned to school no later than Friday 11th December.  Thank you for your support.

Traffic/Parking

I would like to remind you once again about the dangers to our pupils when cars are being parked inconsiderately or illegally during the morning drop off.  Parking illegally or inconsiderately not only causes inconvenience to local residents and undermines the school's efforts to be a good neighbour but you are putting your own and other children at risk.

To date it is extremely fortunate that no-one has been seriously injured (or worse) as a direct result of bad parking but the potential for such an occurrence is ever present, especially at this time of year when the weather, dark mornings/evenings and poor visibility contributes to very hazardous driving conditions.

Please, please be more thoughtful about where and how you park.

Achievements

Achievements will be included on the school website after Friday’s certificates are handed out.

It is my aim to give you any important dates as far in advance as possible.  Further details of any events are provided nearer the time.
