Cool School of the Week

We would like to thank Mr Mayou (parent governor) for nominating Lindal and Marton as a ‘Cool School of the Week’ with The Bay Radio.  We were visited by Danny Matthews this Wednesday and he spoke to staff and children about why we love our school.  It was a brief visit but he did get to speak children in each class.  The show is broadcast every morning around 7:50am for those of you who want to tune in.

Friends of LAMPS

Thank you to the Friends of LAMPS for gathering in school on Monday night for a very productive meeting.  The Friends have agreed to continue with their contribution to the swimming bus, which we really appreciate, and to focus future fundraising on helping us to improve play facilities in the playground.  There are a number of events planned already this term: a Race Night, Valentines Disco and Coffee Morning so please do get involved.

Hatz off for the Hospice

I have been contacted by St Mary’s Hospice and asked if our school would like to take part in their fundraising day next Friday, 29th January.  They are having a ‘Hatz off for the Hospice Day’ and would like participating schools to raise money by coming that day dressed in a hat of their choice.  Winter hats, wedding hats, sun hats or silly hats, anything goes.  All they ask is for the children to bring in a donation of £1 and we will also add to this the Tuck Shop takings for that day.

We are constantly educating the children on the importance of helping and supporting others and we think this would be an excellent opportunity to talk about the work of the Hospice and what a vital service they provide.

Lunch

Many thanks to the Key Stage 1 parents who supported us this week by ordering their child a free school meal.  It was lovely to see a few additional Key Stage 2 pupils having a hot dinner as well.
