Assessment

On the reverse of this newsletter is a communication from the Furness Primary Collaborative.  The Furness Primary Collaborative is an association of headteachers from schools in the Furness area who work together to improve the standard of education across the whole of this locality.  There have been several changes to assessment arrangements which come into effect this year.  The letter overleaf has been agreed to be sent to all of our parents as the first step in communicating these changes.  Additional information will be provided to our parents of pupils in Year 2 and Year 6 after half term.

Extra-Curricular Activities

All clubs will remain the same for the second half of the spring term.  Children in Key Stage 1 can continue Multi-Skills with Tom, our coach, but this will be at a cost of £5 (£1 per session).  Multi Skills will also be open to Reception pupils after half term.  Please see Miss Stewart of Mrs Gallagher if your child is in Reception and you would like them to attend the Multi Skills club every Thursday after school.

Young Voices

Our trip to Manchester for the Young Voices event takes place on Monday 29th February.  Last year was a fantastic experience and we are looking forward to having just as much fun this year.  However, it was a very late night with some children not returning home until after midnight.  We do anticipate that the children may find it difficult to wake up for school the following day and may even need an extra hour or two in bed.

Gymnastics

Following our successes last Friday, we have 3 teams who will be performing in the next round of the Gymnastics competition.  This will take place on Wednesday 24th February at The Park Leisure Centre.  Miss Hair will be sending letters to those children attending.
