10th January Newsletter

Welcome Back

Happy New Year to you all and welcome back to the start of the spring term.  You should all have now received a class newsletter and termly curriculum map from your child’s class teacher which provide an overview of what the children will be learning over the coming weeks and any important information regarding routines or specific information for their class.

Communication

Just a quick reminder that Parent Mail is now our main method of communication with you.  Almost all letters are sent via Parent Mail and these often include permissions.  If you are having any difficulties with the website or app then please let us know or contact Parent Mail directly.  Newsletters are sent weekly but also uploaded onto the school website.  Our Twitter account is used to celebrate our wide and varied curriculum and the experiences and achievements of the children.  The Friends of Lamps has a Facebook page which is used to advertise any events in or out of our school.  Each class teacher has an email account so they can be contacted directly and Dojo messaging can also be used for this.

If you have any issues with these methods of communication or have any suggestions on how communication can be improved, then please do not hesitate to let us know.

Extra-Curricular Club

Extra-curricular clubs start on Monday next week and all parents have been sent a booking form to select the club that your child wishes to attend.  Bookings should be made by Monday as this is when Mrs. Brettle will create the registers for each adult delivering a club.  Can I ask that you ensure your children want to attend the clubs that they are booked onto and that they know which club they have on which day.  There have been instances in the past when children have become upset because they do not want to attend a club or did not know they were supposed to.

Reception Places – Sept 2020

The deadline for applications for a Reception place this year is fast approaching.  If you have a child due to start school this September, or know someone who has, applications should be completed online by January 15th.  Any parents applying after this date may not be guaranteed their first choice.
