Special Thank You

I would like to say a special thank you to Mr and Mrs Brettle.  They came to school on Sunday last week with a small group of friends to prepare the garden ready for our next project.  Playdale will soon be installing a climbing frame for the children and, in order to keep the cost of the project within our budget, Mr and Mrs Brettle volunteered to help us carry out some groundwork.  We did hit a few problems, one in the form of a buried crazy paving surface which resulted in a two-hour job taking all day and a great deal of heavy lifting.  There was no giving up though and, after a lot of sweat and effort, they got the job done.  We are very grateful for their time and by giving up their Sunday to help us, we have saved a significant amount of money that can now be spent on a tyre hopscotch trail to accompany the new climbing frame.  Thank you so much!!!

Harvest Afternoon Tea

Harvest Tea for grandparents will take place on Tuesday afternoon from 1:30pm.  We will not be able to open the door until 1:15pm as we will need this time after lunch to set up the hall.  The children will perform the same songs and poems as those presented in church this afternoon.  If any grandparents would like to take their grandchild home early then please just let their class teacher know.

The School Council will be preparing sandwiches for the afternoon but we would really appreciate it if you could donate some cakes for the event.  If you are able to bake (or buy) cakes, these could be brought in on Tuesday morning.  Thank you for your continued support.

Parents Evening

Our Parents’ Evenings will be held on the Monday and Tuesday evening in the first week back after half term.  Next week there will be lists in the entrance hall for you to sign next to your preferred time.  If you do not come into school because your child is older or attends Breakfast and After School Club then please ask your child to sign for you or contact Mrs Gallagher in the office.

For children in Year 4/5/6, you will meet with the class teacher who teaches your child for English and Maths.  If your child has two different teachers for English and maths then please sign the sheet for the teacher who also has them for Topic lessons.

Friends AGM

The Friends AGM has been arranged for Friday 2nd November, 3:15pm and will take place in school.  The children will be supervised in a classroom whilst adults discuss past and future events.  We would love to see as many parents there as possible to share ideas on ways to fundraise and, more importantly, what the funds should be spent on.
