2nd November Newsletter

Circus Workshop
On Monday the children will be taking part in a Circus Skills Workshop delivered by Alastair Fleming. Mr Fleming will spend the day in school and will work with each class for approximately an hour so all children will benefit. He has also offered a Juggle Ball Workshop after school which will involve children making their own juggling balls to bring home. The cost of the workshop will be £2 to cover the cost of materials and it will run from 3:15 to 4:15pm. There are only 30 places available and these are open to children from Year 2 to 6. If your child is not already attending a club and you would like to book them onto the workshop then you can do this, and also pay the £2, through Parentmail.

Step Trackers
As mentioned in my last newsletter, 16 children will be going home with a step tracker to wear for the week. Please see their reading records for information. If you are still unsure then ask their teacher.

Thanks from the Furness Homeless Support Group
Josie Quirk from St Peter’s Church was kind enough to pass on a letter she received from Furness Homeless Support Group giving thanks for your generous donations of food given as part of our Harvest Festival. The food given from both school and the church combined provided 278 meals for those in need and the foodbank were very grateful.

Lindal Village Firework Display
Just a reminder that Lindal’s annual firework display will take place this year on Saturday 3rd November at The Cricket Club on Pennington Lane. Doors will open from 6pm and the display will start at 7pm. Admission for adults is £3 and £2 for children. Proceeds go to the Senior Citizens Christmas Party so please do support this local event.

Ancient Greece Theme Day
Thank you to Mrs Elliott and all other adults working in Class 3 and Class 4 for planning and delivering a fantastic theme day for the children. They have produced some fabulous writing today as a result of the activities. Thank you especially to you, the parents, for providing costumes and outfits. The children looked amazing and I fully appreciate that this was a very busy week but it was definitely worthwhile.

Tag Rugby
Huge well done to the Year 5/6 Tag Rugby team who were crowned champions on the last day of half term. Mr Procter took a team to the competition at Dowdales and was full of praise for how well they worked as a team and their excellent sportsmanship. Well done!
