Non-Uniform Day – June’s Jogle

I thrilled to tell you that we raised £180 with our non-uniform day on Thursday this week.  This will be donated to June Mayou as she is walking from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise money for Alzheimer’s.  Thank you so much for your generosity.

Sponsored Fun Fitness

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our Fun Fitness event this week due to the wet weather.  We have now rearranged this for next Friday afternoon, 21st June.  Fingers crossed we have a better day!

Class Teacher Interviews

We are still in the process of recruiting a KS2 Class Teacher to replace Mrs Elliott for September.  The closing date was yesterday and we have shortlisted 5 candidates who have been invited to interview next Thursday.  Each candidate will teach children from our current Year 3 and Year 4 groups as well as undergo a series of other assessments.  You will be informed of the outcome as soon as possible.

Book Orders

Please could any parents ordering from The Book People pay the amount on the day or at least before the books are collected.  We only have a very small amount of cash in school due to the majority of any other payments being made online.  If orders are not paid for when The Book People come to collect, they will not leave the ordered items.  If it is more convenient, payment can be made via the donations page on ParentMail.

Church Gala

St Peter’s Church Gala will be taking place on Saturday 29th June and we cannot wait to Grace Heap crowned the Gala Queen.  Grace is a fantastic Year 6 pupil and a friend to all so it would be great to see as many of our pupils attend the gala and support her on that day.  The gala will begin at 1:50pm with a procession from church to The Green.  It is always a fabulous afternoon with fancy dress, the famous Lindal Mile run, Dalton Town Band performing and the many different stalls you can visit.

The church have asked if we would like to run a stall on the day which is a wonderful opportunity for some of our older pupils.  The Teddy Tombola is always popular so with your help we would like to do this.  If you have any old teddies at home that you are able to donate then please bring them into school before Tuesday 25th June.  Alternatively, if you do not have any teddies, donations of any bottles would always be appreciated for the Bottle Tombola.
