Welcome back to the summer term; this one promises to be the busiest one yet!
Mrs. Gallagher will be leaving us this term. She was interviewed this week for the position of Office Manager at Chapel Street Infant and Nursery School and was successful. Mrs. Gallagher’s last day will be May 24th. As you can imagine we will be very sad to lose such a wonderful, bubbly, hardworking member of staff who is not only a fantastic colleague but a friend to all. I am sure you will join me in congratulating Mrs. Gallagher in this career progression as she will move to a position which offers more responsibility and will broaden her knowledge and skills. Well done Mrs. Gallagher, but we will miss you!
Cumbria School Games Flag Competition
I received a very exciting email this morning from Cumbria School Games to say that Orna Lett (Y4) is the Furness winner of the Design a Flag competition. Orna’s winning design will be made up and she has been invited to attend the School Games finals in Carlisle with the opportunity to carry her flag in the opening ceremony. Their communications officer stated in her email that ‘The judges adored the simple pattern that could easily be recreated and they loved the map that Orna created subtly highlighting Barrow. The addition of a gymnast was noted as a cute addition recognising LAMPs accomplishments at Cumbria School Games.’
Well done Orna, you have made us very proud!
Class 1 have been working hard this week egg decorating for a competition set by Mrs. Lawson. As usual the standards were very high and Mrs. Lawson found it incredibly difficult to choose. Well done to all that participated. We hope you had lots of fun!
We were invited to St Peter’s Church this week and the whole school visited to take part in their Easter Experience. This involved the children being split into groups and each group visited 6 stations. Each station provided them with an opportunity to learn about a different aspect of the Easter story and then take some time to reflect on their own special memories and their hopes and wishes for the special people in their lives.
It was a fantastic morning. The volunteers from the church who had planned, prepared and delivered each activity had put in so much time and effort to provide our pupils with such a special experience. We are very blessed.
These are useful dates for your diary that will be added to each week. More information about each event will be provided nearer the time. New dates are highlighted, changes to any date/time are in red.
