March 8th Newsletter

Uniform

We are seeing an increase in children, mainly KS2, coming into school not wearing their full and correct uniform.  We are very proud of our uniform and how smart the children look and want to continue these high standards.  It is especially important for the Year 5 and Year 6 children to wear the correct clothing as not only are they making visits to their future secondary schools, we often have staff from those schools visiting us and we want the children to look and be their best.

Red Nose Day – 15th March

Just a reminder that we will be participating in Red Nose Day.  The School Council decided to have a ‘crazy hair’ theme this year.  For a £1 donation, the children can come to school with a crazy hair style and there will be a prize for the craziest hair style in each class.

Step Trackers

Mrs Elliott spoke to the children in assembly today about how impressed she has been with the effort that some children have given to increasing their activity to achieve a high step count for their class.  Class 2 have been doing exceptionally well and are usually crowned the most active class each week.  In order to recognize individual efforts, we will be acknowledging the child with the highest score each week. There will be a class and individual reward given at the end of the term.

Class 1 Supply Cover

As mentioned last week, today was Mr Pegg’s last day although we do hope to see him again in the future.  From Monday next week, we will have another supply teacher, Yasmine Maddock, working with Class 1 and she will work very closely with Mrs Lawson to ensure there is a smooth handover when Mrs Lawson resumes her teaching role in April.

Friends – Re-cycling

The Friends are organizing a Recycling Week to raise funds for school.  We all have books, CD’s and DVD’s that are cluttering up our homes, so why not have a sort out and bring them in to school.  We will be collecting books of good condition as well as CD’s and DVD’s with no scratches between.  The collection will be from Monday 25th – 28th March, so if you do have anything to donate to help raise funds then please bring them school during that week.
