November 1st Newsletter

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the second half of the Autumn Term.  It has been a very busy but very positive week.  The children have all come back to school with renewed energy and have all been working very hard.  It was fantastic to be able to meet with parents on Monday and Tuesday evening to give positive feedback about the children’s learning and their excellent attitudes toward school.  Thank you to all those who attended.

Roadworks

I would like to apologize for any inconvenience you have had trying to park outside school this week and thank you for your patience and understanding.  It has been very difficult due to the workmen working towards the bottom of the street.  Unfortunately, we were given no notice of this so were unable to inform you that the morning drop off and end of day collection may be difficult.  Staff have been asked to park sensibly to account for there being less space.

Christmas Raffle

Your children have been sent home with raffle tickets tonight.  These are for the LAMPS Christmas Raffle organized by The Friends.  We would be very grateful if you could sell the raffle tickets to your neighbors, friends and family to help us raise funds for school.  We are hoping to purchase a set of IPads for Class 1 and continue to develop the outdoor areas.

Athletics

Mr Procter took our Year 3/4 athletics team to Furness Academy this week to compete against 22 other schools.  We were delighted to hear that LAMPS came 7th place which was an excellent achievement especially as we were the highest placed small school.  We were also thrilled that Lexie Brettle (Y4) was nominated by another school for a School Games Values award and she received a certificate for her determination.  Well done Lexie!

Lindal Fireworks Display

Lindal Moor Cricket Club will be holding their annual firework display on Tuesday 5th November.  The doors open at 6pm and the firework display begins at approximately 7pm.  Adults pay £3 to enter and children are £2, with the usual bonfire night food on sale.  It promises to be an enjoyable evening and all the proceeds go towards the cost of the Senior Citizen’s Christmas party.
