Miss Whyte
I would like to inform all of our parents that Miss Whyte will be leaving Lindal and Marton School at the end of this term. Myself, the staff and the governors are all very sad to receive Miss Whyte’s resignation as she has been a fantastic addition to the LAMPS teaching team. She is popular amongst adults and children so we will all be sad to see her leave. However, Miss Whyte has a very exciting adventure ahead of her; she will be leaving this country to teach in Dubai which is an amazing opportunity.

I will be writing to parents in the very near future to provide information about the teaching organisation from January and our plans moving forward.

Year 5/6 Hockey
We took two teams to a Year 5/6 Hockey Tournament this Monday and were thrilled with their success. Our A team came first in their half of the competition beating Yarlside Academy in the final and our B team came second in their half after a very heated final which was also against Yarlside Academy. Once again our pupils demonstrated excellent sportsmanship which is just as important to us as winning.

Assessment Outcomes 17-18
The table below shows the statutory assessment outcomes achieved by the pupils in those year groups last year. We are very proud of how hard our children work and thankful for the amazing support they receive at home, both of which have contributed to these outstanding results.

Reading Raffle
It has been a busy few weeks with events such as Parents’ Evenings, Halloween and Bonfire Night so, understandably, we have had a few less children in the Reading Raffle today. Please remember that your child needs four signed entries in their reading record each week. If your child is in KS2 and can read independently, they do not necessarily need to sit with an adult but we ask for an adult to sign so that there is confirmation that the children are reading regularly.

Coniston 2 Barrow
I was thrilled with the news this week that school are to receive a £1575 donation from the Keswick 2 Barrow Committee. This donation is made up from both our staff volunteering on the day and also the team who did the C2B walk last year and named us as their charity. We would like to say another huge thank you to Mrs Heap, Grace, Mrs Elliott, Imogen and Zara and also their friends and family who supported them on the day and to all those who sponsored them. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. We are hoping to organize a team to take part next year so please let me know if you are interested.
