Harvest Tea for Grandparents/Senior Citizens
On Tuesday afternoon next week, we will be holding our annual Harvest Tea for grandparents, who can arrive between 1:15-1:30pm. The children will present the poems, prayers and songs which they performed in church last week and there will also be a few songs from the Choir who have been working Mrs Hoekstra. As usual we would like to offer our guests sandwiches and cakes so therefore we would really appreciate any donations. We will happily receive baked or bought cakes. Thank you.
Edinburgh Residential
Just a reminder that he £36pp deposit for next year’s residential is needed on or before Monday 14th October.
Aldi Poster
We have now filled the Aldi poster and it has been sent off in the hope that we will be the lucky school that gets drawn to receive £20,000. Even if we do not win that fantastic prize, we will be very excited to receive a new sports kit. Thank you so much for sending the stickers in, especially if you have made any extra visits or bought extra shopping just to support us.
Athletics
Well
done to our Year 5/6 athletics team who competed at Dowdales today. I am pleased to report that they came 2nd
in the whole competition which is wonderful.
The team will now go on to compete in the Furness Competition after half
term. Can I say a huge thank you to Mrs
Smith and Mrs Marshall who have both been coaching the team on Monday evening
each week and accompanied them today. Thank
you for giving up your time.
Early Years Outdoor Area
Mrs Lawson would like me to mention the Early Years outdoor area. This is the space outside Class 1 that parents use to collect pupils from both Class 1 and Class 2 each day. When your child comes out of school, could you please ensure that they are not allowed to move or mess with any of the equipment. We have had a few broken items from children playing in there after school and Mrs Lawson is having to spend time each morning tidying the area before she is able to set up any activities.
